DAY 2 – Aggitis Cave, Drama & Kavala
10:00
The only cave in Greece with a river flowing through it. The Aggitis River has carved an underground path adorned with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites, like natural sculptures. A tour here combines geology, history, and awe.
12:00 - 13:30
One of Drama’s most acclaimed wineries. Christos Pavlidis, with guidance from leading oenologists, revealed the potential of international varieties in the terroir of Drama. Labels like Thema and Emphasis have earned global recognition, offering elegance and character. This experience is a deep dive into the modern Greek wine scene.
Lunch in Drama
14:00 - 15:30
Discover the flavors of Drama through dishes that blend influences from East and West. From traditional boureki and soutzoukakia to local cheeses and fresh vegetables, each meal offers a delicious exploration of the region’s culinary heritage.
16:00 - 17:30
“Oenotria Land” is more than a winery – it is also a distillery and a Wine Museum. Costa Lazaridi was a pioneer who placed Drama firmly on the world wine map. Signature series like Amethystos and Château Julia are paired with a fascinating exhibition of wine history and tradition through the museum’s collections.
Relax or shopping?
18:00 - 19:30
Those who wish can take some time to relax and rest.
For the rest, we’ll take a stroll through the town to discover local delicacies or pick up small gifts for those waiting for us back home.
Dinner at the wine bar
19:30 - 22:00
The day concludes with a relaxing evening at an elegant wine bar in Kavala, where we sample three local wine labels.
After the tasting, we enjoy a shared dinner at the same venue, which tastefully and warmly wraps up our second day.
